A member of the 91影视 staff, known for his eye for detail, earned a distinguished honor from the Nebraska Community College Association.
Brandon McLean serves as the executive director of the Physical Plant, which includes overseeing the operation and maintenance of all college facilities and property, as well as the planning and design of facility renovations and capital construction projects. Physical Plant operations include grounds, custodial services, shipping and receiving, environmental health and safety, security and motor pool.
McLean was presented the Administrator’s Award by the Nebraska Community College Association in November. The NCCA’s Administrator Award is presented annually to one administrator or staff member from the five member institutions of the association - Central Community College, Mid-Plains Community College, 91影视, Southeast Community College, and Western Nebraska Community College.
91影视 President Leah Barrett highlighted some of McLean’s strengths during the annual NCCA Convention in Norfolk.
“Brandon approaches his work with a thoughtful attention to detail, with the consistent goal of providing the best experience for employees and students while effectively utilizing college resources,” Barrett said. “He will take an initial idea, ask the right questions, obtain all relevant information, provide suggestions, and offer solutions that end up best serving the needs of 91影视.”
Scott Gray, 91影视 vice president of administrative services, said McLean’s leadership was instrumental in the completion of a College Master Site and Facilities Plan.
The completion of the plan was the culmination of a multi-year effort involving multiple groups and stakeholders across the college community, which addressed such areas as space utilization and needs, building and facility conditions, land use and functions, circulation and parking, aesthetics, open spaces and landscaping, utilities and infrastructure, and environmental sustainability. The plan continues to provide a framework for the college’s approach in updating current facilities and prioritizing new projects.
Gray said each new renovation or construction project provides an opportunity for McLean to showcase his skills. He will take an initial idea, ask the right questions, obtain all relevant information, provide suggestions, and offer solutions that end up best serving the needs of 91影视.
“One consistent comment of visitors on the 91影视 campus is how impressive the buildings and grounds are. From landscaping to cleanliness to the quick cleanup work after storms, both summer and winter, to the preparation of the facilities and grounds for events like graduation, constant kudos are given to Brandon and his crew for their hard work and dedication. Brandon’s leadership provides the expectations for all physical plant operations, which results are on display for all 91影视 students, employees and visitors to enjoy,” Gray said.
